It was a good start to the new Redwood Acres Raceway season for Brandon White.
The 78th season at the local raceway kicked off on Saturday night with a packed schedule of racing action, including the fourth race of the year for the NorCal Legends series.
And White won an exciting main event, holding down the stretch top take the checkered flag.
He got the night started with a heat race victory, along with Carlee Austin, J.K. Kinney and Kylie Daniels.
The top two finishers in the B main event — Trystan Mucci and Kinney — transferred to the 18-car starting field for the feature race.
White would take the victory ahead of Kai Lovell, with Cody Winchel in third, Robby Czub in fourth and Ellie Musgrave edging Cole Brown to the line in a photo finish for fifth.
The night’s racing also featured the Mid-City Motor World Late Models, limited modifieds and bombers.
Fast time for the Late Models was Luke Hall with a 15.595, while Brandon Barnwell was victorious in the heat race.
Barnwell would take the checkered flag in the main event, followed by Hall in second, with Jerry Peterson, Joe Bonomini and Louie Shaha placing third through fifth.
Landyn Collins was fast time for the limited modifieds with a 16.897.
He also won the heat race, but it was his father Charlie Collins who took the feature win.
Landyn Collins placed second, ahead of Luke Hall, Christian Sanchez and Gene O’Dell.
Dustin Walters was quickest for the bombers in qualifying with an 18.601 time.
Walters went on to take the win in both the heat race and main event.
T.J. Sorrels finished second followed by Jimmy Sorrels.
