By Ray Hamill — One of Tuesday’s scheduled Little 4 boys basketball games has been postponed.
The matchup between the Ferndale Wildcats and Warriors in Hoopa has been pushed back because of weather conditions.
The game will how take place on Friday night instead.
Tip off is set for 6 p.m. instead of the usual 7:30.
Both teams are 1-3 in conference play with two games remaining each and Friday’s showdown will likely be for the third and final Little 4 berth in next week’s Dick Niclai tournament.
The Wildcats are coming off a 62-45 loss to L4 leaders St. Bernard’s last week.
Junior Prescott Langer had a big performance for Ferndale in the loss and finished with a tema-high 31 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double.
Hoopa, meanwhile, won a non-conference game at home against Fortuna on Saturday in overtime by a score of 62-59.
Joshua Moon scored a team-high 21 points in the win, while teammate Brian Richards added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Hoopa Senior Brandon Romero also impressed and finished with 10 assists and eight rebounds.
Tuesday’s three other scheduled H-DNL boys games will go ahead as planned to kickstart a busy week in local high school basketball.
In the Little 4, the South Fork Cubs will try to keep their conference championship hopes alive when they welcome L4 leaders St. Bernard’s to Miranda.
In the Big 5, meanwhile, McKinleyville hosts Arcata in a game that will likely decide this year’s championship, while Eureka travels to Fortuna.
