By Ray Hamill — One day after a disappointing loss in the regular-season finale, the College of the Redwoods football team got some good news on Sunday.
The Corsairs, who closed out the regular season 7-3, will play a home bowl game for the third straight year, it was announced.
As expected, Redwoods will play West Hills in this year’s postseason game which will take place under the lights at the Redwood Bowl.
The 2024 Grizzly Bowl will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
Two years ago, the Corsairs lost the 2022 Grizzly Bowl game to Monterey Peninsula, but last December they ended a 30-year wait for a bowl game victory with a 63-0 win over Hartnell.
Both of those games were also played at the Redwood Bowl.
West Hills closed out the regular season with a record of 6-4.
On Saturday, the Corsairs lost 41-18 at Siskiyous in their regular-season finale.
