By Ray Hamill — The H-DNL has released a revised schedule for this week’s league soccer games.
The revision comes because of rain forecast for Wednesday and the possibility of up to three potential playoff games to decide automatic North Coast Section playoff berths, as well as the availability of officials.
While the Del Norte Warriors have already clinched the Little 4 girls championship, three teams still remain in the race for the H-DNL boys title, which could result in a three-way tie, and two teams remain in the hunt for the Big 4 girls pennant.
In boys action, Fortuna and Arcata will face off in a championship showdown at Arcata High on Tuesday as scheduled, with kickoff pushed back 30 minutes to 4:30 p.m.
Fortuna is two points clear atop the standings and needs just a tie to secure the title, although Arcata is just two points back and a win for the Tigers would see them tie the Huskies for the championship.
Del Norte, which is tied for second with Arcata, will host South Fork on Tuesday (4 p.m.) and a win for the Warriors, coupled with an Arcata win, would see them share the championship.
Both of this week’s scheduled Big 4 girls games will also now take place on Tuesday, having been moved forward by a day.
Fortuna and Eureka are tied atop the standings going into the final round of conference games with identical 5-2-1 records.

Fortuna plays at Arcata (2 p.m.) and Eureka hosts McKinleyville (4 p.m.).
If both of the contending teams win, tie or lose, they will share the title and will meet in a playoff game to decide the automatic NCS berth on Thursday at a yet-to-be determined location and time.
One or two potential playoff games for the H-DNL boys NCS berth would also take place on Thursday and Saturday at a yet-to-be determined location and time.
UPDATE — After Tuesday’s games there are no playoff games needed for either the Big 4 girls or H-DNL boys.
The final two Little 4 girls games will also take place on Thursday, along with the final regular season game between the Eureka and St. Bernard’s boys teams.
There are no playoff implications for any of those teams.
The Del Norte girls play at Ferndale (4 p.m.) and the St. Bernard’s girls play at South Fork (6:30 p.m.), while the Eureka boys play at St. Bernard’s (4 p.m.).
Also on Saturday, the Eureka and Del Norte girls will play a make-up non-conference game in Crescent City at 1 p.m.
The NCS playoff brackets and seeds will be announced this weekend.
