Manzi shines as Crusaders cruise to second victory in Tennessee

Michael Manzi had four touchdown receptions on Thursday night, as the St. Bernard’s football team won for the second in seven days in Tennessee.

The Crusaders cruised to an easy victory, beating Harding Academy 51-6 and improving to 6-1 on the season as they get set to kick off the Big 4 next weekend.

Manzi was one of several standouts for the visitors, pulling in four receptions for 148 yards and scoring a TD every time he caught the ball.

Junior Luke Brunton returned to the lineup after missing the past couple of games through injury and combined with fellow quarterback Trenten Hagler to throw for 351 yards and six TDs.

Hagler completed 9 of 13 passes for 208 yards and four touchdowns and one interception, while Brunton completed 6 of 11 for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Crusaders, who scored touchdowns in all four quarters, led 30-6 at halftime and 44-6 after three quarters.

Kris Tinkham and Quentin Ikeya each also had a touchdown reception, while Riley Nantz had a rushing TD.

Kicker Tyler Hinrichs also continued to impress and added a 37-yard field goal and made six of seven PATs.

Kohlton Hall led the SB defense and had three sacks on the night as well as blocking a punt on special teams.

The Crusaders also defeated Grace Baptist Academy 23-10 in Tennessee last weekend.
