Post times set for this year’s Humboldt County Fair horse races

With eight days of horse racing on tap for the upcoming 128th Humboldt County Fair meet, post times have been set for the opener for each of the racing programs.

The three-weekend Humboldt meet, with races slated for thoroughbreds and quarter horses, will get under way on Aug. 23, with the season-opening race set for 3:15 p.m.

Action on Ferndale’s historic half-mile track will start at 2:15 p.m. on both Saturday (Aug. 24) and Sunday (Aug. 25) on the opening weekend.

The Labor Day weekend of action will include racing on Saturday (Aug. 31), Sunday (Sept. 1) and Monday (Sept. 2), with the racing getting under way at 2:15 p.m. on all three days.

The Humboldt Fair session will then conclude with racing scheduled for Sept. 7 (Saturday) and Sept. 8 (Sunday)

Post times for both of the final days is set for 2:15 p.m.

“Live” races on the Ferndale track will be conducted approximately every 30 minutes each afternoon.

Races from Saratoga (New York), Gulfstream Park (Florida), Monmouth Park (New Jersey) and other venues in the United States will be simulcast to fans at the Ferndale track for wagering during the “live” Humboldt programs.
