After a lengthy delay due in part to area wildfires, the 2024 season at Redwood Acres Raceway is set to resume this Saturday.

O’Reilly Auto Parts will be presenting a night of wall-to-wall action with late models, Upstate Modifieds, Upstate Bombers, the Nor Cal Legend Series, mini stocks and vintage modifieds all scheduled to race.

This will be the first racing action at the local track since June 22 and just the third night of racing all season.

A scheduled race night on July 27 — which was set to include the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series, Spears Modified Series and Nor Cal Legend Series — had to be postponed until Aug. 31 because CALFIRE was using the Redwood Acres fairgrounds to help battle wild fires.

Despite the lack of action so far, there has been plenty of excitement in the race for the season championships.

Luke Hall (June 8) and David Henderson (June 21) have claimed victories in the two Late model featured events at the local raceway.

The Upstate Modified Series and Upstate Bomber Series both visited RAR earlier this year on June 8.

Sierra Furia took the modified victory while Jeremy Doss was the bomber winner.

Furia currently leads the Upstate Modified points by eight points over Trystan Mucci, with Sammy Nuno, Sal Martinez and Eric Price, Jr. rounding out the top five.

Local racer Jordan Krupa is the points leader for the Upstate Bombers coming off a July 6 win at Ukiah Speedway.

He has an 11-point advantage over Terry Pittman. They are followed by Bob Mook, Eureka’s Kadence Toland and youngster T.J. Sorrels.

Brandon White has dominated the Nor Cal Legend Series, having won three of the series’ first four races this season including the past three in a row.

White, who has won two of the three feature races at RAR in 2024, holds a solid 49-point lead over Kylie Daniels in the season standings.

Kai Lovell is third, followed by Trey Daniels and J.K. Kinney.

The Mini stock winners in 2024 have been Derek Duke and Jarrett Mayo.

Pre-sale tickets for Saturday’s race are available at Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, JC Auto in Fortuna, McKinleyville Barbershop in McKinleyville and on RacinTheAcres.com.

General admission tickets are $12, while child, senior and military tickets are $10.

Fans are encouraged to take advantage of the discount prices before race day.

Gates open at 4 p.m. on Saturday while racing starts at 5 p.m.
