The Humboldt Crabs are still waiting on their first Pacific Empire League win after falling for the fourth time in four games to the Lincoln Potters on Friday night.

One week after being swept in a three-game series in Lincoln, the Crabs welcomed the Potters to the Arcata Ball Park and fell 6-4.

All four games between the two league clubs have been close, and the Crabs have blown a late lead in three of them.

They led 4-0 going into the seventh inning on Friday but gave up six unanswered runs down the stretch on the way to losing for the seventh time in their last nine games.

The Potters out-hit the Crabs 11-6.

Shortstop Colin Callahan led the home team at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with two walks and scoring a pair of runs.

The hard-hitting Victor Castaneda added a triple and drove in two runs.

Eureka’s Hayden Bode took the loss on the mound in relief of starter Andrew Overland.

Overland threw seven innings and allowed four runs — two unearned — on six hits and a walk and struck out five.

Bode threw the final two innings, allowing five hits and no walks and striking out three.

JR Freethy provided the offensive highlight of the day for the visitors, finishing 2-for-3 with a solo home run.

With the loss, the Crabs dropped to 12-9 on the season and 0-7 in the PEL.

The Potters improved to 34-4 on the year.

The two clubs will play again on Saturday night at 6:30 before closing out their weekend series on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
