A change in roles hasn’t slowed Nick Dugan down much.
On Sunday, the former St. Bernard’s standout, who is a sophomore with the Stanford Cardinal, recorded his first save of the season in a 6-3 win over Creighton.
Dugan was the Cardinal’s game three starter for the opening five weekends of the season and won his first three games as he got the campaign off to an impressive start.
Against Creighton, however, he was used out of the bullpen instead and continued to roll with two strong innings for his second career college save.
Dugan gave up one hit and one walk and struck out five.
The 2022 SB graduate, who led the Crusaders to a NorCal championship as a senior, is now 3-1 this year with one save.
He has 26 strikeouts in 24 innings and an ERA of 6.75.
The Cardinal are 10-11, including 3-3 in the Pac-12.
They will play a three-game series at Utah this weekend.
