By Ray Hamill — College of the Redwoods athletics has stepped in at the last minute to help local basketball fans in more ways than one.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Corsairs would host the highly-anticipated all-local Division-4 NorCal showdown between St. Bernard’s and Arcata on Wednesday night in order to allow more fans attend.

The game was originally scheduled to be hosted by No. 1 seed St. Bernard’s, but the bigger gym at CR will accommodate a larger crowd.

However, because the NFHS Network is not compatible with the camera system at CR, switching venues jeopardized streaming the game live.

But once again the Corsairs have stepped in to help and the game will now be streamed live on the CR YouTube page.

The feed can be accessed here.

Tickets for Wednesday’s big game can be purchased through GoFan.co.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the winner of the big showdown will advance to play for a state championship in Sacramento on Saturday.

  1. Anyone able to access the live stream from the link above? Not sure if it’s just starting late or if it’s not working?
