LITTLE 4 ROUNDUP — Crusaders clinch a share of conference; Warriors win

The St. Bernard’s girls claimed at least a share of the Little 4 championship with their fourth win in four conference games on Thursday night.

The Crusaders traveled to South Fork and came away with a 65-28 win.

The victory, coupled with Hoopa’s 68-45 win over Ferndale, leaves the Crusaders two wins clear at the top of the standings with two games remaining.

They can clinch the title outright with a win in either of their final two games.

Madelyn Shanahan continued to impress for SB and finished with a game-high 17 points, while teammate Laila Florvilus added 15 points and Samantha Sundberg had 11 points.

Aliyah Vigil also had a good game and finished with nine points, while Hannah Finck added five points and Alyssa Boham chipped in four points.

With the win, which was their 10th straight, the Crusaders improved to 19-2 overall.

Caidence Young led the way for South Fork and finished with a team-high 12 points.

“Caidence Young had an amazing night,” South Fork head coach Rebecca Robles said. “She’s a real leader on the court.”

Raelyn Hawkins also impressed for the Cubs and finished with seven points, while Karalyn Worsick had five points and Raevyn Reveles chipped in four.

At Hoopa, meanwhile, the Warriors avenged an earlier loss at Ferndale with a 23-point win over the Wildcats, leaving both teams 2-2 in conference play and in a battle for second.

The home team led by six after the first quarter and stretched the advantage to 16 by halftime.

Senior Tashee Tracy scored a game-high 34 points in the win, while Maggie Morris added nine points and Ivy Lamebear finished with eight points.

Wau’Kel Blake also had a good night and finished with six points, while Harmony Nelson chipped in five points.

Tinnley Pidgeon led The Wildcats with a team-high 13 points and Clara Albee added 12 points.
