The Eureka boys dropped back-to-back games on the road this weekend, losing at Ukiah on Friday night and at Kelseyville on Saturday afternoon.

The Loggers fell 61-55 at Ukiah and 77-72 at Kelseyville.

Also in action this weekend, the red-hot Hoopa girls stretched their winning streak to seven straight with a 78-32 win at Etna on Friday.

The Hoopa boys were also in action at Etna on Friday and won 71-55.

The Loggers saw a four-game winning streak end at Ukiah.

Jahmil Rippy led a balanced offense with 11 points in the loss, while Elijah Estrada and Julian Goodman both finished with 10 points.

Jerome Lyons added seven points and Will Mooney had six points.

“Coming out of the car, we came out a little flat,” assistant coach Andrew DeHart said. “So we had to kind of battle our way back.”

The Eureka boys would close the gap but the home team would begin to pull away again after the interval.

Goodman and Makai Dennon brought a lot of energy to the court in the second half.

“They just didn’t stop battling the whole game,” DeHart said. “The effort was unwavering, so we’re super proud of that.”

At Kelseyville, the Loggers trailed by five after the opening quarter but carried a 12-point lead into halftime after a big second quarter that saw them outscore the home team 24-7.

However, the second half belonged to the Knights, who scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to rally from a seven-point deficit.

Estrada scored a team-high 21 points for Eureka, while Rippy had 19 points, Prince Latimer had nine points and Will Mooney eight.

Kerlseyville got hot from downtown to key the late rally.

At Etna, the Hoopa girls broke open a tight game with a big second half.

The Warriors led by just one at halftime but outscored the home team 53-8 in the second half.

Five Hoopa players scored in double digits, led by junior Harmony Nelson, who scored a team-high 16 points and also had six assists and five steals.

Freshman Maggie Morris also had a good game and added 15 points, while fellow freshman Wau’Kel Blake finished with 14 points, including four 3-pointers, as well as seven rebounds.
