The Fortuna Huskies bounced back from a disappointing night shooting on Friday to close out the Colusa tournament with a victory over Durham on Saturday.
The Huskies won the game 60-41 and improved to 4-1 on the season.
In other local games on Saturday, three H-DNL teams were crowned tournament champions.
The Eureka girls beat Enterprise 74-29 to win the Gridley tournament, while St. Bernard’s beat Cloverdale 40-20 to win the Cloverdale tournament.
The Arcata Tigers also won their own round-robin tournament with a third win in three days, beating McKinleyville 49-45 on Saturday.
The Ferndale Wildcats also travel for the Cloverdale tournament and placed third with a 44-39 win over Lower Lake on Saturday, while Hoopa closed out the Arcata tournament with a 74-37 win over Willits.
The Del Norte Warriors were in action at the Yreka tournament and finished 2-1 in tournament play with a 53-50 win over Shasta on Saturday.
Junior Kalie Chittendon has impressed for Fortuna early in the season and that continued to be the case at the Colusa tournament this weekend.
Chittendon scored 11 points in Saturday’s win and was named to the all-tournament team.
Teammate Mariah Bravo scored a team-high 12 points, while Allie Cox finished with 10 points.
Fortuna’s only loss in tournament play came against tournament champion Colusa.
Next up, the Huskies will play at the Redwood Empire Invitational in Healdsburg next week.
The Ferndale girls, meanwhile, placed third at the Cloverdale tournament.
The Wildcats opened tournament play with a 58-54 win over Upper lake on Thursday and followed that with a 46-34 loss to the host school on Friday.
They closed out the tournament with a second win in three days, beating Lower Lake by five points.
Fresh off an impressive season on the soccer field, sophomore Tinnley Pidgeon led the way for the Cats over the three days and was named to the all-tournament team.
