The St. Bernard’s Crusaders will play in the final of the Cloverdale tournament on Saturday after a 51-21 win over Lower Lake on Friday night.
The win lifts the SB girls to 2-0 on the season.
Also in action on Friday, the Eureka girls won for the second straight day at the Gridley tournament, beating Oroville 65-16, and the Loggers also advanced to Saturday’s championship game.
At the Arcata tournament, the host Tigers made it two wins in two nights with a 58-49 win over Hoopa, while McKinleyville comfortably beat Willits 57-17.
At the Colusa tournament, the Fortuna girls suffered their first loss of the season, falling 48-34 to the host school, while the Del Norte Warriors fell 75-48 to Henley at the Yreka tournament.
Laila Florvilus scored a game-high 18 points for St. Bernard’s, while teammates Madelyn Shanahan and Jocelyn Sundberg each finished with nine points.
Aliyah Vigil chipped in eight points for the Crusaders, who will play Cloverdale in Saturday’s championship game at 2 p.m.
The Eureka Loggers, meanwhile, had balanced scoring in their win at Gridley, with Tiara Maualuga, Kaitlin Giacone Isis Poteet and Samara Gaither each scoring 13 points.
The Eureka girls, who improved to 4-1, will play Enterprise in the final on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Senior Allie Cox led the Huskies at Colusa and finished with 11 points in the loss, while junior teammate Emily Sauers added seven points.
“Ice cold shooting,” is how Fortuna head coach Tom Chapman described it.
“We struggled to make baskets and gain momentum,” said the head coach, whose team is now 3-1 on the season. “We had opportunities to score but our shots were not falling.”
The Huskies will try to bounce back when they play Durham at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Brooklyn Carter led Del Norte with 19 points, as the Warriors suffered their first loss and dropped to 2-1 one night after beating Orland 53-30.
Lauren Stutes and Jacalyn Gorbet each finished with 11 points.
The Del Norte girls will close out tournament play on Saturday.
One night after suffering a disappointing overtime loss to Hoopa at the round-robin Arcata tournament, the McKinleyville Panthers comfortably took care of business against Willits.

And they did it with some balanced offense as 10 different players scored.
Tatum Fisher scored a team-high 16 points in the win, while teammate Gabby Watson finished with eight points, Bella Turner and Syriah George each scored seven and Taly Turner had six points.
The Panthers will close out the Arcata tournament against the host school on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with Hoopa playing Willits at 1 p.m.
