By Ray Hamill — Fresh off an historic North Coast Section volleyball championship over the weekend, the St. Bernard’s Crusaders will open the NorCal tournament on the road.

The SB girls will play at Sacramento County Day in the Division-IV bracket on Wednesday night.

The Crusaders received the No. 5 seed in the six-team bracket, while the Cavaliers are seeded No. 4.

Game time is set for 6 p.m.

A victory for St. Bernard’s would set up a semifinal showdown at No. 1 seed Fall River on Saturday.

This past weekend, the Crusaders continued their impressive playoff run with a straight sets win over California Crosspoint in the NCS Division-6 championship game at St. Bernard’s.

The victory not only gave the SB girls a first-ever section championship in the sport but also ended a 37-year championship drought for the H-DNL.

The Crusaders, who have not dropped a set in three playoff games, are 18-9, while the Cavaliers come into Wednesday’s match with a record of 21-5.
