By Ray Hamill — There was no slowing down McKinleyville senior Damian Dinan on Wednesday as he won for the fourth time in four H-DNL cross country meets this fall.

The dominating Panthers standout has now won every regular season league race he has competed in since the beginning of his junior year.

And he appears to be getting stronger as the season progresses, winning at the Arcata Sports Complex on Wednesday by more than a minute.

Dinan pulled away over the 5K course and crossed the finish line in a time of 16 minutes 34 seconds.

With the top seven Arcata runners opting not to compete this week, the Eureka Loggers had the Nos. 2 through 7 finishers and comfortably took the team win.

Junior Everett Docherty continued his impressive season with his fourth top-three finish of the season and placed second in a time of 17:36.

Senior teammate Chase Jimenez was third in a time of 17:47, while Eureka freshman Ryder Bullman continued his outstanding debut season at the high school level in fourth.

Bullman completed the course with a PR time of 17:53 for his third straight top-four finish.

Eureka junior Sean Morris placed fifth in a time of 18:05, followed by teammates James Coleman and Wyatt Zerlang in sixth and seventh.

McKinleyville freshman Miles Day was eighth, with Arcata’s Jordan Gaskell and Del Norte’s Luke Padilla rounding out the top 10.

Eureka scored 20 points to take the team win, followed by Arcata (59), McKinleyville (92), Hoopa (116), Fortuna (125) and Brookings-Harbor (139).
