Few teams have dominated on the Big 5 volleyball courts the way the Del Norte Warriors did this season.
On Thursday night, the Del Norte girls completed a perfect league campaign with another straight sets win over Fortuna in Crescent City, winning 25-10, 25-4, 25-12.
The victory lifts the Warriors to 8-0 in the Big 5, but more impressively the incredible Warriors did not lose a set in those eight games.
It was also senior night for the team, which honored the five seniors — McKenna Curtis, Lili Nunez, Reece White, Breann Winingham and Ava O’Reilley — before the game.
And the seniors once again had a big impact on the victory.
Curtis finished with nine kills and five digs, while Nunez had 25 assists and three digs.
White added four aces and three digs and Winingham had four blocks.
They weren’t the only players to contribute in the win.
Bliss Blackburn added seven kills and two digs, Lauren Stutes had five kills, seven aces and two blocks, Tsinte Steinruck had four kills and two blocks and Khloe Smith added five digs.
The Warriors closed out the regular season with a record of 21-8 and will now turn their attention toward the North Coast Section playoffs, which get under way next week.
The Warriors will find out their seed and first-round opponent when the brackets are announced on Sunday.
As league champions they will get to host a game next Wednesday.

The Del Norte seniors were honored before Thursday’s final regular season game in Crescent City.
