St. Bernard’s Hannah Finck and Del Norte’s Charley Tygart tied for the low score of the day at the fourth round of H-DNL girls golf on Thursday.
The low round was the second of the season for Tygart, both of which have come at Del Norte and both with a round of 94.
Finck also shot a 94 for her best round of the year, beating her previous season-best by an impressive 12 strokes.
In what is shaping up to be a very competitive season for the H-DNL girls, four different schools were represented in the top five individual scores.
This season has also seen four different winners in four rounds.
On Thursday, the Arcata Tigers made their move with a big team performance to re-take the season lead for the team championship.
The Arcata girls out-shot their league rivals by 19 strokes to move well ahead in the standings.
The defending league champions will be tough to stop after opening up a 45-stroke lead, with Eureka in second and McKinleyville now two strokes further adrift.
Del Norte’s Madi Calleja also had a big round and shot a 95 to finish just one stroke behind Finck and Tygart.
League leader Madyson Nelson of Arcata had the fourth best round of the day with a 98, followed by Eureka’s Mia Lopez in fifth with a 102.
Nelson, who had the low score in the opening two rounds of league play, remains atop the individual season standings.
Nelson has a total of 290, which is nine strokes ahead of Tygart (299) in second.
Finck (308) and McKinleyville’s Neyr-res Bartoo (308) are now tied for third just nine strokes further back.

Bartoo shot a 104 on Thursday to tie Arcata’s Lily Cunningham for sixth best round of the day, followed by St. Bernard’s Estella Monahan in seventh with a 106.
Del Norte’s Sophia Jager and Fortuna’s Sophia Campbell each shot a 107 to tie for ninth on the day.
Three more rounds remain in league play.
Next up, the girls will compete at the Redwood Empire Golf & Country Club in Fortuna on Monday.
