There is just one remaining undefeated JV football team in the H-DNL after another busy weekend of action for the league.

The Ferndale Wildcats continued their impressive start to the new season with their third win in three games, as they improved to 3-0.

The standard-setting Cats welcomed Hoopa to the Cream City and won 20-6.

Through their three games the high-flying Wildcats have outscored their opponents 109-14 and their defense has yet to allow more than eight points in any game.

Ferndale, however, will likely face a tougher challenge this weekend when they travel to Fortuna as part of the Milk Can rivalry.

The Fortuna Huskies have been almost as impressive through the early season and won their second straight game last weekend, 40-8 at McKinleyville.

The Huskies, who also beat Arcata the previous week, are now 1-2, while McKinleyville dropped to 0-2.

St. Bernard’s and Del Norte, meanwhile, both suffered their first loss of the season over the weekend.

St. Bernard’s fell 38-12 at Biggs, one week after tying Willits, and the Crusaders are now 1-1-1.

Del Norte traveled to South Medford for a Thursday night game and fell 46-6.

The Warriors are now 1-1.

The Eureka Loggers also lost their game at Enterprise, barely falling 21-20.

The young Loggers have been more competitive than their varsity team and are now 1-2, including an opening weekend win at Arcata and a 12-point week-two loss at Analy.

The JV action continues this weekend.

On Friday night, the Hoopa Warriors will play their home opener against Trinity, as will the Loggers when they host Justin-Siena.

The McKinleyville Panthers will try to get their first win of the season when they travel to University Prep, also on Friday.

On Saturday morning, St. Bernard’s will try to get back to winning ways in a scheduled showdown against Arcata.

Del Norte has a bye this weekend.
