Big wins for Krupa, Barnwell on Fan Appreciation Night

Submitted photo – It was Fan Appreciation Night at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday.

The Upstate Bomber Series visited the Redwood Acres Raceway for the second time this season on Saturday, on a night the local track honored its fans.

Jordan Krupa took the checkered flag in the 50-lap series main event, followed by Dustin Kuhl in second and Terry Pittman in third.

Three-time RAR mini stock champion Phil Wood enjoyed this return to racing with a fourth-place finish, with Kadence Toland rounding out the top five.

Brandon Barnwell also tasted victory in the late models division main event.

Barnwell took the checkered flag over Romeo Venza in second, with Nick Ford placing third and Luke Hall fourth.

Before the night’s racing action got under way, a fan meet and greet took place on the front straightaway as fans were able to meet their favorite drivers and see their cars up close on Fan Appreciation Night.

The Legends were also in action.

Landen Green took his second main ever win of the season, with Tyler Avelar, Tyler Krupa, Chris Lawrence and Scott Taylor rounding out the top five.

In the mini stocks division, meanwhile, the dominating Gary Klinetobe locked up another season championship by merely starting the main event.

Klinetobe continued an outstanding summer season by sweeping the night’s events, setting quick time and winning the trophy dash, the heat race and the main event.

Cole Peterson placed second in the main event, followed by T.J. Rollins in third.

The 2023 Redwood Acres season will finish up with the annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Fall Spectacular on Sept. 23.
