The Del Norte Warriors won their home opener in volleyball on Wednesday night, defeating the St. Bernard’s Crusaders in straight sets.
In a matchup of the two local defending league champions, the home team won 25-10, 25-10, 25-18.
All 11 of the Del Norte players got some playing time, as head coach Meagan Curtis went deep to her bench.
Sophomore Bliss Blackburn impressed in the win and finished with nine service aces and six kills, while junior Lauren Stutes added eight aces.
Reigning Big 5 MVP McKenna Curtis also impressed in the win and finished with a team-high 11 kills and also had five aces.
Lili Nunez helped set the tone for the home team and dished out 28 assists, while Reece White had four digs and Breann Winningham had four kills.
With the win, the Warriors improved to 5-1 on the season.
St. Bernard’s was led by reigning Little 4 MVP Madelyn Shanahan.
The senior standout finished with nine kills and four blocks.
