The winner of the third annual Legends of the Redwoods Shootout wasn’t officially named until the following day after a wild finish at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday night.

On Sunday, it was announced that Mike Doss took the win at the INEX sanctioned event.

The final lap of one of the biggest races of the season at the local track was chaotic after several cars spun.

Because of all the chaos and confusion, track officials had to review video evidence of the race before officially awarding Doss the win.

Harry Barton placed second, with Jeremy Doss third, Brandon White fourth and Aiden Daniels fifth.

In the bomber division, Chris Sarvinski withstood a final lap charge from Jordan Krupa to take the main event win.

Gary Klinetobe also was victorious in the mini stocks as he maintained his perfect record in 2023 with a fifth win in five feature races.

Trophy dash winners on the night included Landen Green and Luke Hall for the Legends, Doug Way in the bombers and Klinetobe in the mini stocks.

The heat races were won by Scott Taylor, Kylie Daniels and Jeremy Doss in the Legends, Jordan Krupa in the bombers and Cole Peterson in the minis.

Taylor was the winner of the Legends B main event.

The night’s action was sponsored by DelReka Distributing.

The 2023 season continues August 12 with a full slate of local action featuring the late models, Legends, bombers and mini stocks.
