David Miller clearly enjoys the Firecracker 100.
The veteran driver from Coquille, Oregon, made it three straight wins in the annual late models race at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday night.
Miller dominated from start to finish with only one other driver finishing on the lead lap, and his margin of victory was almost four seconds.
Brandon Barnwell placed second, with Ryan Walters in third, Luke Hall fourth and Nick Ford fifth
The busy Brandon White also had a good night at the local raceway while competing in both the Upstate Bomber Series and the Legends division.
White dominated the Upstate main event, leading the 50-lap race from start to finish and taking the checkered flag.
Jordan Krupa was second, with Terry Pittman, Dustin Kuhl and Doug Way rounding out the top five.
White also dominated the 30-lap Legends feature and again led from start to finish on the way to the victory.
Landon Green was second, followed by Tyler Krupa, Tyler Avelar and Kai Lovell.
Gary Klinetobe continued to be unstoppable in the mini stocks and placed first in an exciting main event to solidify his lead io the season standings.
Jarrett Mayo was second, followed by Joe Bonomini, Brian Murrell, Jr. and Cole Peterson.
Sadly, following the racing action, Martin Towns passed away.
Martin was a beloved crew chief for the Redd Family Racing team and was a dear friend to many at Redwood Acres Raceway.
A press release from the raceway announcing the news said “To say that he will be missed is truly an understatement. His impact and insight cannot be overstated and will never be replaced. Martin will never be forgotten.
“Redwood Acres Raceway would like to send condolences to Martin’s partner, Lori Brown, the Towns family and all of Martin’s friends. We would also like to thank our staff and the volunteer fire and safety crew who were on the scene quickly to aide in saving Martin’s life.”
Racing will return to Redwood Acres Raceway on July 29 with the Legends Of The Redwoods Shootout.
The Legends feature will be an INEX sanctioned national event and track officials are expecting a very strong car count.
