By Ray Hamill — The St. Bernard’s Crusaders are North Coast Section champions again after a comfortable victory in Saturday’s Division-6 final at Crusader Field.

The SB bats took control of the game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and would run out to a 9-0 win over league rival Ferndale.

The section title is the 15th all-time for the program, making the Crusaders the most successful playoff team in NCS history.

Both the Crusaders and Wildcats will now turn their attention to the NorCal playoffs, which get under way on Tuesday afternoon.

Both Little 4 teams will open one the road.

The Crusaders, who won the NorCal Division-III tournament last year, are seeded No. 6 in Division 4 and will open at No. 3 Gridley, while the Cats are seeded No. 6 in Division V and will open at No. 3 Etna.

Both of Tuesday’s games are set for 4 p.m.
