The Arcata bats continued to impress on Wednesday, as the Tigers won their second game at the Shasta tournament and improved to 12-2 on the season.
The Tigers beat Enterprise 16-3, putting up double digits in runs for the seventh time in their last eight wins.
“The kids are getting their swings in,” head coach Troy Ghisetti said. “They’re doing a good job of seeing the pitches.”
Nine players combined for 12 hits in the win, led by Chase Coleman, who was 3-for-3.
Miles Oliver also had multiple hits and was 2-for-4, while Ty Ghisetti and Will Mager each was 1-for-2 with a double and Braden Meadows and Finn Warner each was 1-for-1.
Ben Lukens pitched five strong innings for the win on the mound, allowing just five hits and a pair of walks and striking out six.
“Ben battled well today on the mound,” Troy Ghisetti said. “He did a pretty good job commanding the strike zone and keeping their hitters off balance.”
Anthony Ebert, Tanner Kees and Noah Waterhouse each added a hit in the win.
The Tigers will close out tournament play against Shasta at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
