The Ferndale girls put last week’s Little 4 loss at St. Bernard’s behind them with a 44-29 win at Fortuna on Monday night.

The victory lifts the Wildcats, who are the No. 1 Division-6 team in the state, according to MaxPreps, to 15-4 on the season.

Reaghan Langer scored a game-high 15 points in the win, while Kyla Albee finished with 14 points.

“We played good team ball last night and were making some excellent passes to share the ball,” Ferndale head coach Terra Albee said.

Emily Chavez added six points in the win, while Carly Carmesin chipped in five and Tia Henrikson and Clara Albee each had two points.

For Fortuna, Allie Cox, Mariah Bravo and Grace Scilacci each scored a team-high six points.

The Huskies dropped to 7-15.

Next up, on Wednesday, the Huskies will play at McKinleyville in a Big 5 showdown, while the Wildcats will play a second straight non-league game against Big 5 opposition when they travel to Arcata.
