Big third quarter lifts South Fork girls past the Mustangs

The South Fork girls got back to winning ways against Round Valley on Wednesday night, defeating the Mustangs 46-36 in basketball in Miranda.

The win was the second on the season over the Round Valley girls, as the Cubs improved to 4-8.

Caidence Young scored a team-high 19 points in the win, including 14 in the third quarter as the home team exploded for 23 points in the period to take control.

Macy Yarbrough also had a big game for South Fork and finished with 12 points, while Arianna Rose had 11 points and Jalynn Worswick chipped in four points.

The Cubs will try to make two straight wins when they host Hoopa in Little 4 action on Thursday night.

The Mustangs dropped to 3-6 with the loss.

Thursday’s game is set for 7:30 p.m.
