The 2023 Redwood Acres Raceway season is now less than four months off, with track officials releasing the new schedule last week.

The season gets under way with the second annual Rotary Rhododendron 100 on April 29, on what will be the first of 11 nights of racing planned.

All five local divisions — the late models, Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners — will all be in action on opening night, with the late models competing for a big purse in the Rhododendron 100.

May will feature the return of the popular Gunslinger Sprint Cars, while the first modified race of the season will be held in early June, with the annual Fair Race on June 23.

In early July, the local track will host the annual Harper Motors Firecracker 100 for the late models, while the Upstate Bomber Series will make the first of two appearances at the local track later in the month.

The Legends Of The Redwoods Shootout will also tale place on July 29, with the top Legends drivers from the region expected to show for this event.

The popular Fan Appreciation Night will be held on Aug. 26, while the season will close out with a bang in September with the Upstate Bombers making a second appearance and of course the annual season-concluding Fall Spectacular later in the month.

Drivers and teams will have the opportunity to prepare for the season with test and tune days ahead of the season on April 15 and April 22. 

A practice session is also scheduled for April 28, a day before the season officially kicks off.
