Gracie Betts continues to impress on the basketball court for the College of the Redwoods women despite the team’s recent struggles.

Betts led the way offensively for the Corsairs in all three games at the San Jose City College tournament this week, with the CR women winning just one of their three games.

The 2021 Fortuna graduate averaged 16.6 points a game in tournament play, including 19 points in an 81-65 loss to Siskiyous in the tournament finale on Thursday.

The Corsairs opened the tournament with a 78-62 loss to Pasadena, before bouncing back to defeat Porterville 71-58 on Wednesday to end a five-game losing streak.

Betts scored 17 against Pasadena, while teammate Kathryce Danzuka finished with 15.

Betts also had 14 points against Porterville, while Rachel Valdez chipped in 13.

Former Del Norte Warrior Molly Slayton, meanwhile, had one of her best games of the season against Siskiyous and finished with 10 points.

The CR women are now 5-12 overall.

Next up, they open conference play at home to Shasta on Jan. 7 at 3 p.m.
