By Ray Hamill — A couple of fan favorites will highlight Bear River Fight Night 16, which will take place on Saturday night (Nov. 19).
Doors open at 5 p.m. with the fights getting under way at 6:30, and as usual there will be a sizable contingent of locals on the card.
Headlining the event are pros Austin Mitchell and Andrew Guisa from the Lost Boys Gym in Arcata, who will fight in separate co-main event welterweight showdowns.
Guisa will fight Kerry Lattimer, while Mitchell will face off against Chris Ensley.
Mitchell made a successful return to the cage at the last Bear River Fight Night in September, fighting for the first time since before COVID, and the Del Norte fighter improved to 2-0 as a pro with a first-round TKO.
Guisa, who made his pro debut earlier this year, is now 2-0 as a pro, with his most recent win coming against Jawan Jackson in August after ending the contest with a kneebar in the first round.
A total of seven local fighters are scheduled to fight on Saturday.
