The Huskies are beginning to find their feet again in Big 4 girls soccer.
After opening league play with back-to-back losses to Arcata and Eureka, the Fortuna girls are now unbeaten in two straight games, including a 2-2 tie with the Tigers on Saturday.
“Arcata played well,” Fortuna head coach Samuel Licona said. “But we were very disciplined with our formation. Our shape was very good today.”
The Tigers led 1-0 at halftime, but the Huskies rallied after the break with Chloe Cox scoring to tie the game at 1-1.
Teammate Taylor Brooks would add a second Fortuna goal later in the game as the Huskies once again rallied from a goal down.
“Overall, it was a great performance by all of the players,” Licona said.
Malia Bolden continued to impress for the Huskies along the back line, as did Myra Hayes, while Zoe Dewberry had a good game in goal.
The Huskies and Tigers are now are now both 1-2-1 in the Big 4.
No scoring stats were immediately available for Arcata.
