The Eureka boys stretched their unbeaten run to seven straight games with a 2-0 win at McKinleyville on Thursday night.
The Loggers remain well in the hunt for a league championship with a pivotal game at Arcata on Tuesday.
Eureka scored twice in the opening half to take control of the game, and that would prove to be enough.
Trenton Gerber scored the opening goal off an assist from Tomas Paoli, with Donovan Millender making it 2-0 when he netted on a cross from Ean Savage.

“We started the game slow and took a bit to settle,” Eureka head coach Eddie Garcia said. “Had some really good moments but not our best showing overall. I’m happy with the win though.”
Wit the win, the Loggers improved to 5-0-2 in the H-DNL and 7-3-3- overall.
The Loggers and Tigers tied 1-1 in their first league meeting and are the only unbeaten teams in league play.
The league-leading Tigers also won on Thursday, getting the better of St. Bernard’s 10-0 to go to 6-0-1 in league play.
The Huskies, meanwhile, defeated Del Norte 5-3 in Fortuna.
The Huskies, who had lost to the Warriors in Crescent City on opening day, rallied from an early one-goal deficit, with Jesus Herrera Vielma scoring a hat trick in the win.
“We found some width and played with some passion,” Fortuna head coach Daniel Holmes said.
Adrian Magana and Aristeo Herrera each also scored in the win, as the Huskies improved to 4-2-1 in league.
The Del Norte girls, meanwhile, got their first Little 4 win on Tuesday, defeating South Fork 4-3.
Lilliana Ramirez, Mayleah Jackson, Alexis Agurrie and Bella Palmermin all scored for the Warriors, who improved to 1-2 in league play.
Summer Contreras scored twice for the Cubs, with teammate Cadence Young also finding the back of the net.
Jalynn Worswick also had a good game supporting the attack, while Cloe McConnell once again did a good job on defense.
