VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS — Bragging rights belong to Eureka, for now

By Ray Hamill — Round one of this crosstown rivalry went the Loggers way.

After giving up a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, Eureka responded by scoring 28 unanswered points on the way to an impressive 31-13 win over St. Bernard’s at Albee Stadium on Friday night.

The two teams will meet a second time when league play gets under way later in the season, but for now the bragging rights belong to the Loggers.

It was Senior Night for the team and the seniors made the most of the occasion.

Quarterback Rogan Bode ran in for a pair of first-half touchdowns and running back Daniel Garcia-Hall added two more in the third quarter, including a 94-yard run that gave his team a commanding three-touchdown lead.

Check out our first-half highlights above, including Bode’s two TD runs and Wyatt Simoni’s touchdown run for St. Bernard’s.

With the win, the Loggers improved to 2-1, while St. Bernard’s dropped to 1-2.
