By Ray Hamill — MIX 95.1 FM will broadcast 15 high school football games live this fall, beginning with a doubleheader of action this coming weekend.
Longtime local commentator Tag Wotherspoon will call the action from several of the Fortuna and St. Bernard’s games over the next three months.
Wotherspoon will head to Napa this weekend to cover the Fortuna/Justin-Siena game on Friday night at 7 p.m., before returning to Eureka to cover the St. Bernard’s/Hoopa game on Saturday afternoon, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
The pregame show gets under way 15 minutes before kickoff.
Saturday’s game had originally been scheduled for 2, but the start time has been moved forward an hour because there will be no JV game.
MIX 95.1 FM will also broadcast doubleheaders on the weekends of Sept. 16/17, Sept. 23/24, Oct. 28/29 and Nov. 4/5.
All of the Del Norte Warriors games will also be broadcast live this season, as always, on KPOD 97.9 FM.
John Pritchett and John “Mad Dog” Horner will call the action.
The Warriors travel to Piedmont this Friday night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
