Beasts football will host a Throw-a-thon on Saturday to fundraise for their new cheerleading program and some much-needed football equipment.
The competition will be split into three divisions, one for single-A players (11 a.m.), one for AA players (noon) and one for AAA players (1 p.m.)
Each player will have 10 opportunities to throw for distance, with trophies going to the winners in each division.
The players have been fundraising themselves for the event and prizes will also be awarded for each team’s highest fundraiser, as well as a grand prize for the overall highest fundraiser and a pizza party for the team that fundraises the most.
The event will also feature a snack bar and a bake sale.
The funds raised will go toward the Beasts Football cheerleading program, as well as helping to pay for new helmets and shoulder pads for the football team and referees for each home game.
The event will be held at the Athlete Factory Field, 2734 Hubbard Lane, Eureka.
