The Humboldt Eagles split a Sunday doubleheader against the Fairfield Expos to take the weekend series at the Bear River Sports Complex.
After dropping a close opener 9-8, the Eagles took game two by a score of 8-1.
Cole Ayla had a big day, hitting a two-run home run in the opener and pitching five solid innings for the win on the mound in game two.
Parker Rodgers, Vincent Agliolo, Daniel Osborne and Branson Gans each also had two hits in game one.
Osborne, one of several Fortuna players to impress on opening weekend for the Eagles, added two more hits in game two.
Mason Nichols also had a pair of hits in game two, while Rylan Lommori had a big two-RBI hit.
Joey Quen pitched two solid innings in relief of Ayala to close out the game.
The Eagles also beat the Expos 3-1 on Saturday and are now 2-2 on the young season.
Next up, the Eagles head to Shasta College to play two games against the Chico Nuts on Sunday.
