College of the Redwoods announced on Wednesday that the annual dinner and auction to benefit the athletics program will return on August 11.
The event, which has not taken place since 2019 because of COVID restrictions, will be held at the CR gymnasium from 5 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $85 for an individual, $640 for a table of eight, and $750 for a table of 10.
The CR Foundation and CR Athletics are asking for donations of both silent and live auction items/packages. A benefits package is available to donors.
This is CR’s largest fundraising event and is usually attended by more than 500 community members.
This year’s event will honor the 2006 CR softball team, which was the first Corsairs team in the sport to make it to the Final 8 State Championships since the merger of the small school/large school format.
“We are extremely excited for the in-person return of the CR dinner and auction, which benefits our intercollegiate athletic programs,” said Bob Brown, Director of Athletics, Kinesiology, Health and Physical Education. “Over the years, this event has been a critical revenue boost to the operations of all the athletic teams and has directly benefitted our student-athletes’ academic and athletic experience.
“We are truly grateful for all the continued community support and firmly believe this support has played an integral role in our recent successes, including three Golden Valley Conference Championships in women’s cross country, men’s basketball and women’s track and field this year.
