Redwood Acres Raceway officials announced on Thursday that the local track will be offering two scholarships to local high school students.

According to a press release, track officials will be offering the scholarships “to give a boost to those looking at a higher education after high school.”

The scholarships, each of which are worth $1,000, are open to any high school student who plans on attending college.

According to the press release, “Some preference will be given to those who have had an association with the raceway in some fashion but it is not a requirement.”

The deadline to enter for the scholarship is June 30.
