David Henderson had to overcome a late caution flag on his way to victory in the late models main event at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday.

The second of 10 nights of racing action this year featured all five local divisions, and the late models featured race went down to the wire after a spin with two laps remaining brought a caution flag.

Henderson appeared to be headed to victory before the restart, which brought Mike Doss, David Miller and Luke Hall back into the picture.

The front row of Henderson and Doss went toe-to-toe on the restart, but Henderson took the lead coming to the white flag and was able to hold on for the victory, followed by Doss, Miller, Hall and Brandon Barnwell.

Jordon Paiment enjoyed a big night in the Legends division, winning both the heat race and the main event.

Paiment was able to hold off young Maleesa Miles for his first-ever main event win, with Tyler Krupa third, Tyler Avelar fourth and Chris Sarvinski in fifth.

In the bombers division, Jordan Krupa took the checkered flag in the main event, which his second career win in the division, with Tyler Krupa second and Raquel Krupa third.

Rookie Kadence Toland made a good account for herself with a fourth-place finish, with Steve Kimberling in fifth.

In the min stocks main event, Brian Murrell, Jr. took the early lead and never looked backon his way to victory over Cole Peterson, Gary Klinetobe and Allison McCarty, who was driving Jarrett Mayo’s truck for the night.

Nick Ford, meanwhile, took the victory in the roadrunners main event, winning a thrilling three-car battle with Jeremiah Martin and Dylan Ford.

The three drivers were within constant touch with each other all the way to the last lap, but coming off the fourth corner, Dylan Ford got into Nick Ford while Martin went all the way to the wall. Nick Ford was able to save his car and win the race to the flag as he took the victory over Dylan Ford and Martin.

Racing returns to Redwood Acres Raceway on June 4, when the North State Modified Series will make their first visit of the season to the local raceway.

The night will also feature the Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners.
