The Hoopa girls got back to winning ways with a doubleheader sweep in Little 4 softball on Thursday, defeating Ferndale 25-0 and 17-3.
Just two days after a hard-fought non-league loss at Eureka, the Warriors returned to the Little 4 and comfortably won both games as they improved to 4-0 in league and 9-3 on the season.
The Colegrove sisters, Savannah and Tatianna, continued to impress and got the wins in the pitcher’s circle.
In game one, Savannah allowed just one hit and no walks and struck out 13, while also finishing 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Also in game one, Nalani Colegrove finished 4-for-5 with a double; Tatianna Colegrove was 3-for-3 with three doubles; Nae-rew Martin was 3-for-5; Jewely Bibancos had a double; and Hannah McCullough and Diamond Bibancos each had a hit.
Karli Powell had the Wildcats’ only hit of the game.
In game two, Tatianna Colegrove struck out 12, while giving up just three hits and no walks.
The junior standout also continued to play well at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a triple.
Jewely Bibancos, Nalani Colegrove and Martin each had two hits, while Diamond Bibancos and Bella Valentine each had one.
Alyssa Watkins had a double for Ferndale, while teammates Gabby Rice and Sydney Smith each also had a base hit.
The Cats are now 0-4 in the Little 4.
