Beach, Morris both homer as Loggers win big at South Fork

McKenna Beach and Kira Morris both homered on Wednesday as the Eureka Loggers won a non-league softball game 14-0 in five innings at South Fork.

Beach finished 4-for-4 with the home run, two doubles and five RBIs, while Morris was 3-for-3 with the home run and six RBIs.

Kaitlin Giacone got the win in the circle, pitching all five innings and allowing just three base hits.

The sophomore pitcher struck out 11.

With the win, the Loggers improved to 11-1 on the season.

The Eureka girls will play a doubleheader at Clear Lake on Saturday.

The Cubs, who dropped to 0-7, will host St. Bernard’s in a Little 4 doubleheader on Saturday.
