Fennell and the Huskies continue to roll

A good start to the new high school softball season appears to be getting even better for Fortuna’s Kylee Fennell.

On Tuesday Fennell led the Huskies to a comfortable 17-6 win over South Fork and was 4-for-4 at the plate with three doubles and three RBIs.

Fennell also pitched all six innings for the win in the circle, allowing five hits and five walks and striking out 10.

With the win, the high-flying Huskies improved to 7-0 and they should carry plenty of momentum into next week’s Big 5 opener.

Catherine Duncan and Hannah Millhorn each added two hits against South Fork, while Libby Johnston and Kelsi Hall each had a double.

Ashli Jenks, Mariah Smith, Lauriana Anderson and Zoe Dewberry each also had a hit.

No stats were available for South Fork.

The Fortuna girls will try to keep their winning ways going when they play Hoopa on Wednesday afternoon.
