More overtime heartbreak for Cal Poly Humboldt

The Cal Poly Humboldt basketball teams both fell to Cal State East Bay on Saturday night, including an 86-84 triple-overtime loss for the men.

It was the Cal Poly men’s sixth straight loss and their second straight in overtime, as they dropped to 4-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and 10-12 overall.

Jaden Edwards scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss.

Cal State East Bay’s Justin Vigil hit a last second shot to secure the win.

The Cal Poly women also lost on Saturday, falling 64-49 and dropping to 6-9 in conference and 7-12 overall.

Freshman Jadence Clifton led the Jacks offensively with 14 points and also finished with  a game-high eight rebounds.

Both Humboldt teams will hit the road for games at Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday and at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, before returning home for their final two games of the regular season next week.
