Corsairs split opening day doubleheader in baseball

College of the Redwoods opened the new baseball season with a doubleheader split against Mendocino at Bomber Field in Eureka on Friday afternoon.

The Corsairs dropped game one 3-0, before responding to win game two by the same score.

Chandler Jones got the win on the mound for CR, while Ray Fellows came in to record the save.

Caden Rogers hit a solo home run for the offensive highlight of the day for the home team.

Dane Pardrnos took the loss on the mound in tho opener.

The two teams will play for the series win on Saturday at noon.
