Playing behind closed doors in Crescent City, the Warriors scored a season-high in points with senior Adriel Horton posting a career-high in points for the second straight game.
After scoring 19 points in his team’s league opening victory over Eureka last week, Horton remained hot and finished with 21 points on Tuesday.
With the win, the Warriors improved to 2-0 in the Big 5 and moved into a tie with McKinleyville atop the standings.
Nani Scott also continued to impress in the win and finished with 17 points, while teammate Edwin Zepeda chipped in 12 points.
Both teams were shorthanded due to COVID protocols, with just seven players on hand for Del Norte and six for Fortuna.
Standout sophomore Alfonso Medina also continued his impressive season for the Huskies and scored a team-high 14 points, while teammate Jordin Bourne finished with 10 points and Jake Houseworth eight.
Konner Price added eight points for Del Norte and Ethan Thomas seven.
The Arcata Tigers, who had their Tuesday night game against Eureka postponed, are 0-1 in the Big 5 but are expected to contend for the conference championship.
With the loss, Fortuna dropped to 0-3 in the Big 5 and 7-12 overall, while Del Norte is now 11-3 overall.
Next up for the Huskies is a game against Ferndale on Friday night.
