Lumberjacks return to action, get set for two doubleheaders

Humboldt State Athletics – HSU freshman Jadence Clifton.

Both Humboldt State basketball teams will return to action this week with home games on Thursday and Saturday nights.

The Jacks will host Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. on each night and the men at 7:30 p.m.

The HSU men are 8-4 overall (2-4 in conference) and have not played a game since defeating Sonoma State 84-60 at Lumberjack Arena on Jan. 2.

And they will have their hands full against a San Bernardino team that is ranked No. 6 in the nation.

For the HSU women, meanwhile, Thursday night’s game will be the first of the year after seeing three straight contests canceled because of COVID protocols.

The Jacks are 4-5 overall and 3-2 in conference and have not played a game since losing at Sonoma State on Dec. 20.

As per HSU regulations, all spectators at sporting events must show either an HSU staff, faculty, or student ID; or proof of vaccination; or proof of a negative test result within 72 hours of arrival.
