HSU freshman named CCAA player of the week

Humboldt State Athletics – Cam Timmons

Humboldt State redshirt freshman Cam Timmons has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, becoming the second Lumberjack to receive the honor this season.

Timmons was one of five Jacks to score in double digits in an 84-60 win over Sonoma State on Sunday, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds for his first-ever double-double with the team.

Timmons has been hot for the team lately and is averaging 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his last four outings.

Jaden Edwards, who was named conference player of the week last month, scored a game-high 22 points in Sunday’s win.

Next up, the Jacks will head to SoCal for a couple of conference games this week, playing at Cal State San Marcos on Thursday and at Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday.

In other Jacks basketball news this week, the HSU women have been forced to cancel a pair of conference games this week at Cal State San Marcos and Cal State Los Angeles because of COVID protocols.
