By Ray Hamill — In the words of Arcata head coach John Davidson, it was a “North Coast Classic.”

On Wednesday night, the Arcata Tigers got the better of the Eureka Loggers in a penalty shootout after both teams played a 3-3 tie through overtime in the opening round of the North Coast Section boys soccer playoffs.

“To me, it was one of those North Coast classics,” Davidson said. “In the rain, PKs, playoffs, Eureka and Arcata. It’s the sort of game dreams are made of. It was fun.”
