The St. Bernard’s girls took care of business against Holy Names in Eureka on Saturday night, winning in four sets to move on to the North Coast Section Division-6 volleyball semifinals.
The No. 3 seed Crusaders won 25-9, 25-7, 18-25, 25-11 and will now play at No. 2 Mendocino on Wednesday night.
Madelyn Shanahan continued to impress for the SB girls, finishing with a team-high 21 kills, and so too did Kodi Meyer, who dished out 30 assists.
The Crusaders came out strong and comfortably took the opening two sets, before the visitors battled back to take the third set and make a match of it.
But the St. Bernard’s girls responded to take the fourth set and end the match early.
Meyer also had a good night at the service line, as did teammates Courteney Goodman and Ella Jimenez, while Teressa Riley, Marce Davilla and Amaiyah Her all had a big night defensively.
St. Bernard’s is the lone remaining H-DNL team in the NCS playoffs.
Wednesday’s match is set for 7 p.m.
