Arcata sophomore Gabrielle Ducate got her first career H-DNL cross country win at McKinleyville on Wednesday.
Ducate set a PR with a time of 20 minutes, 11.07 seconds over the three-mile course, and won by 17 seconds.
Fortuna junior Ella Owsley continued her impressive season with a second-place finish (20:28.42), followed by Arcata’s Raven Alverez (21:20.33) in third.
Arcata was the only school with a full team, with the Loggers opting not to compete this week as they build toward next week’s league championships.
Fortuna’s Gabby Crosswhite (21:33.56) was fourth, followed by Arcata’s Aluana Thompson (21:36.18) in fifth.
Arcata had seven of the top nine finishers, including Sydney Trieu in sixth, Sasha Love in seventh, Josie Maguire in eighth and Madison Trieu in ninth.
McKinleyville’s Emma Sobehrad was 10th.
The league championships will take place at the Arcata Marsh on Saturday, Nov. 6.
